Streaming MP3s... soon to be illegal???

There's a new law being discussed in Washington aimed at preventing people from recording what they hear on their computer without a license.

I think this is going too far... I remember making recordings from my valiant transistor radio when I was 8 years old... it brought me great joy to be able to play my favorite songs when I wanted to hear them.

If you're as old as me, you remember Lotus-1-2-3. Mitch Kapor made millions by figuring out how to get people interested in using spreadsheets. It was the "killer application" that made PC's popular. Since then, he's used his money to protect our freedom by starting the Electronic Frontier Foundation. They care about stuff like this, and a lot more.
